Suara.com - The Energetic Yellow glow of the Mitsubishi XForce pulsated on stage, capturing the attention of everyone at the closing day of the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024.
It wasn't just the vibrant colour that turned heads; the XForce in the hero colour: Energetic Yellow embodied the spirit of adventure and exploration, a perfect fit for the Indonesian market.
This wasn't always the case. The XForce's journey began as a concept car, codenamed XFC, brimming with potential.
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), recognizing the Indonesian love for versatile vehicles, embarked on a mission to create a car that seamlessly blended spacious comfort with weekend adventure capabilities.

Alessandro D'ambrosio, the MMC's Executive Design Director, explained the collaborative spirit behind the project, "This project included Indonesian designers to formulate the shape, needs, and utilities which are suitable for driving activities in the country."
This collaborative effort ensured the XForce resonated deeply with its target audience.
The XFC's journey wasn't confined to design studios. It embarked on a roadshow across various Indonesian cities, gathering valuable feedback from potential customers. This real-world interaction played a crucial role in shaping the final form of the XForce.
Finally, the much-anticipated moment arrived. The XForce made its world premiere at the 30th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show on August 8th 2023.
The unveiling was met with immense enthusiasm, further solidifying the XForce's position as a crowd favourite. Its innovative design even earned it the prestigious "Good Design Award 2023" from the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.

Production commenced in October 2023, and the first deliveries followed in November, eagerly received by customers.
Building on the XForce's success, Mitsubishi has ambitious plans for the future. MMC announced they are working on an electrified version of the XForce, catering to the growing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles. Additionally, rumours of a rally car variant have generated excitement among enthusiasts.
Rifat Sungkar, the Mitsubishi (Indonesia) Brand Ambassador, hinted at this possibility, "Why not? Mitsubishi Xpander is already successful as a rally vehicle. Born with the platform from this car, Mitsubishi XForce has the DNA. Just wait and see!"
Atsushi Kurita, President Director of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), further emphasized the company's confidence in the XForce, setting a domestic target of 20,000 units for 2024.
Looking beyond domestic shores, Minoru Saito, President Director of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia (MMKI), revealed export plans with a target of 3,500 cars per month, potentially reaching customers in Southeast Asia, South Asia, South America, Africa, and the Middle East.
