Suara.com - Academy Awards ke-87 atau disebut juga Piala Oscar akan digelar pada 22 Februari 2015 mendatang di Dolby Theatre, Hollywood Boulevard Los Angeles, California, America Serikat.
Ada 24 piala untuk 24 kategori pemenang nantinya. Aktor Eddie Redmayne yang sempat meraih penghargaan untuk kategori penampilan terbaik film drama di ajang Golden Globe 2015, kembali masuk nominasi aktor terbaik di Piala Oscar.
Beberapa pesaing Eddie di Golden Globe kembali masuk nominasi, yakni Steve Carell ("Foxcatcher"), dan Benedict Cumberbatch in ("The Imitation Game").
Begitu juga Michael Keaton ("Birdman") yang meraih penghargaan kategori penampilan terbaik film musikal atau komedi di Golden Globe 2015 akan bersaing dengan Eddie di kategori aktor terbaik di ajang bergengsi ini.
Sedangkan Julianne Moore ("Still Alice") yang sempat meraih penghargaan untuk kategori penampilan terbaik film drama di Golden Globe 2015, kembali dinominasikan aktris terbaik di Piala Oscar tahun ini.
Aktris berusia 54 tahun itu bersaing dengan Felicity Jones ("The Theory of Everything"), Rosamund Pike ("Gone Girl"), dan Reese Witherspoon ("Wild as Cheryl Strayed") yang juga sempat bersaing dengan Julianne di Golden Globe.
Film dengan nominasi terbanyak jatuh kepada "The Grand Budapest Hotel" dan Birdman berhasil menorehkan 9 nominasi, sedangkan "The Imitation Game" berhasil meraup 8 nominasi.
